Ginnie Springs, located in High Springs, Florida, is a renowned scuba diving destination in North Florida, famous for its vibrant, crystal-clear freshwater springs. With seven springs maintaining a constant 72-degree temperature year-round, Ginnie offers a variety of swimming and diving opportunities in a picturesque setting. The area also features great primitive and RV camping, shaded by plenty of trees, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. Winter camping here can offer cool nights and pleasant, warm days, making it a perfect spot for outdoor activities. For those coming from hotter climates, the crisp air and refreshing waters offer a much-needed escape.

Far from the hustle and bustle of local towns, Ginnie Springs provides an incredible opportunity to experience the beauty of the night sky, with star-gazing being a highlight. The abundance of diving opportunities in the springs has inspired me to pursue scuba certification, as there’s no shortage of underwater exploration to enjoy. Whether you’re swimming, diving, or just relaxing in nature, Ginnie Springs offers an unforgettable experience that’s perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

Ginnie Springs, located in upper Florida, is a breathtaking privately owned piece of land that offers a one-of-a-kind experience for nature lovers. Florida is home to more first- and second-magnitude springs than any other state in the U.S., and it may even have the largest concentration of freshwater springs in the world. This makes Ginnie Springs an ideal destination to explore these stunning natural wonders. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Ginnie Springs at least ten times, and I didn’t start going until I was in my 30s. Each visit feels like a new adventure, offering something different every time.

The campground at Ginnie Springs is incredibly spacious and offers a variety of camping options, whether you prefer to camp along the river or nestled deep in the woods. With plenty of spots to choose from, it’s easy to find a peaceful place to set up camp. The campground is well-equipped, providing everything you might need for a comfortable stay, including food, firewood, water, tubes, and more. Ginnie Springs is especially famous for its diving opportunities, drawing divers from all over to explore its underwater caves. It's also a photographer’s paradise, with crystal-clear water and stunning landscapes that make it an excellent spot for photos and videos.

While drones are prohibited at Ginnie Springs, which can be a bummer for aerial enthusiasts, I completely understand the need for such regulations. For underwater enthusiasts, GoPros are a must-have, as the water is incredibly clear, offering perfect conditions for capturing stunning footage. If you're into astrophotography, Ginnie Springs also offers great opportunities for night photography, especially if the moon isn't full and the skies are clear. Long-exposure star shots are breathtaking here, but make sure to bring a tripod for the best results. Ginnie Springs provides a peaceful, scenic environment to enjoy the beauty of nature and capture unforgettable memories.

The video above was filmed handheld on a GoPro as my friends and I spent a day exploring Ginnie Springs. We had a blast tubing and snorkeling to capture the footage, and the added bubbles from scuba divers made for some really cool shots.

The photos below were primarily taken with a Canon EOS 6D, with the star photos using a tripod for long exposures. For the first shot, we used a small laser to light up our camp, which created some unique and striking effects.
