Silver Glen Springs is a stunning freshwater spring located within the Ocala National Forest in central Florida. Known for its size and natural beauty, it’s one of the largest springs in the state. The spring’s flow is so powerful that when you swim towards it, you can feel the force of the water pushing you away as it pours out from the ground. The water temperature remains a refreshing 72 degrees year-round, which is typical for Florida’s springs and makes it an ideal spot to cool off. Although Silver Glen Springs doesn’t offer camping facilities, it’s a fantastic day-trip destination. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and picnicking. It’s a peaceful and beautiful spot, making it one of the standout attractions in Ocala National Forest.

Silver Glen Springs, located in the heart of Ocala National Forest, Florida, is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature, crystal-clear waters, and outdoor adventure. My wife Vivi and I took a day trip to this incredible spring, which, while offering no camping facilities, is an amazing spot to explore. We camped nearby at Juniper Springs, which has both RV and primitive camping options, making it an ideal base for our stay.

Silver Glen Springs itself is massive, with its turquoise waters flowing constantly at a refreshing 72°F year-round. The spring is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a variety of activities, including boating, kayaking, snorkeling, and paddleboarding. Whether you're looking to swim in the spring or explore around the park, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We plenty of time taking photos using a GoPro and Insta 360, which were perfect for capturing the beauty of the water and the surrounding landscape. If you’re planning to shoot here, I highly recommend bringing small waterproof cameras as staying dry on land isn’t the best option for capturing the spring’s true beauty.

This park is fantastic for day trips—whether you’re seeking adventure or just a relaxing day surrounded by nature. The combination of activities and the breathtaking scenery made this spot one of the highlights of our trip to Ocala National Forest. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on the chance to explore Silver Glen Springs and all it has to offer!
